Recently, you could try sorting German and English teams by the year they were founded. Today we’ll follow up on those two quizzes by moving to the Iberian Peninsula, where La Liga is played. The oldest club currently playing in Spain’s top division was founded as far back as 1890, while the youngest came 93 years later.

The quiz works the same way as in the two mentioned quizzes. After you start it, you’ll see a reference date in the left column and the individual teams on the right. You’ll try to rearrange the teams in the order you believe is correct, and once you’re done, you’ll have it evaluated to see how accurate you were. Of course, if you know a team’s exact founding year, that’s an advantage relative to the reference value in the left column. Only the years matter, so you don’t have to worry whether one club was founded in June and another in November—it won’t affect your score. For some teams, the founding date is disputed, or there may have been a renaming, and in those cases we usually used the older date that the club itself also uses.

This series is very tough, and if you don’t know at least the approximate founding years of a few teams, it can come down more to luck. Even so, I think it’ll be fun to try and at least get a quick overview of how old the clubs are. Good luck!
