The British newspaper The Guardian compiles a ranking of the 100 best footballers in the world at the end of each year. Some players manage to make it once or twice, while others stay among the absolute elite for many years. Even though we’ll have to wait a few more months for the new ranking, let’s look back at previous editions...

In this quiz, your task is to name as many as possible of the 55 footballers who, since 2012, have finished in The Guardian’s Top 100 at least seven times. Once you start, you’ll see in the left-hand column the number of Top 100 appearances, and in brackets—just for interest—their best position in the ranking and their nationality. If you get stuck, the hint will reveal the player’s initials.
