Premium Quiz: Players from Northern and Eastern Europe with the most Champions League appearances
Each of you could surely name a few players from Northern or Eastern Europe. No wonder—football history features several notable players from these parts of Europe. But can you name those who have made at least 40 Champions League appearances?
The quiz was originally meant to cover only Northern Europe, but since it would have been rather sparse by Kopačák standards, I added Eastern Europe as well. Because for some countries it isn’t entirely clear which part of Europe they belong to, the Northern countries were classified according to the EuroVoc division, while Eastern Europe was defined by looking at the map, excluding Central Europe and the Balkans. Specifically, these are the countries:
- Northern Europe - Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden - Eastern Europe - Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Romania
After starting the quiz, in the left column you’ll see, besides the number of appearances, the player’s nationality as well as the club where the player recorded the most points in the world’s most famous club competition. If you get stuck, a hint will reveal the player’s initials.
